Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Brad Forster, BSC, DDS, MRCD(C)
Dr. Brad Forster was born and raised on the North Shore. He studied biology at Capilano College and UBC before traveling east to enroll in Dentistry at the University of Toronto. After graduating with honors and completing an internship at St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto, he returned to North Vancouver to practice general dentistry. Two years later, he returned to Toronto to enter a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery which he completed in 1990, and then wrote, and passed the Canadian and British Columbian Specialty board examinations.
Dr. Forster has been practicing in North Vancouver ever since, performing approximately 1,300 surgeries per year. In 2010 he became the President of the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.When not working, teaching at UBC, or spending time with his family (his wife, 2 daughters and 2 stepdaughters), Brad enjoys the outdoors including skiing, rock climbing, and hiking.
Anaesthesiologist
George Maryniak, MD, FRCP(C)
Dr. George Maryniak has been practicing anesthesia for over 30 years. So that means is he's done this before. More than once. In fact, he guesses that during his career he has administered about 45,000 anesthetics.
Dr. Maryniak is a specialist in Anesthesia. He obtained his medical degree and anesthesia training in London, England. He and his family emigrated to Canada in 1989, and to Vancouver in 1993. He is a Specialist Anesthesiologist certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
He is a staff Anesthesiologist at Surrey Memorial Hospital and the Valley Surgery Centre in Surrey. In addition, he provides dental anesthesia services to about 1,200 patients a year at Dr. Brad Forster's office and theDelbrook Surgical Centre.
When he is not administering anesthesia he spends time fixing his house, skiing (badly), and working as Medical Director for Project HANDS, a humanitarian organization which he co-founded. Project HANDS provides, amongst other things, medical care to the poor in Guatemala.
